OBJECTIVE: The invention is a redesigned wireless stethoscope. The stethoscope features a two-piece configuration consisting of an acoustic collector and a pair of wireless earbuds or single earpiece. The two components are linked via a wireless personal area network (WPAN)

FEATURES:

Modified stethoscope would feature a two piece configuration (with both a single and dual earbud models)
Specifically, the one portion would consist of what the inventor refers to as a Medical Acoustic Collector (MAC)
The MAC unit would contain a battery-operated microphone and WPAN transmitter
It would be similar in size and shape to the chest piece of a traditional stethoscope, consisting of a pair of disc-shaped elements linked by a central hub
The other portion would consist of a WPAN earpiece that would contain the corresponding receiver linked to a small amplifier circuit and earbud speaker
The MAC would feature a receptacle in which the earpiece could be stored and charged when the unit would not be in use
Corresponding software would graphically display and analyze heart beats and other body sounds
Also producible in a mouse-shaped version that would be easier to hold
